James O'Neill FGLP Trip Leader

James O'Neill

James is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts and until recently was living and teaching in Japan. During his time as a student at Bridgewater State University, he studied abroad at Kansai University in Osaka. There he held a weekly English conversation class for university students. He enjoyed studying both the ancient and modern cultures of Japan. After he graduated from university with a B.S. in Geography, he spent a year working and saving money for his next adventure in Japan.

In the summer of 2011, he moved to Tokamachi, Niigata to teach at local junior high and elementary schools. While in Tokamachi, James enjoyed fishing, playing sports with the students and PTA, and even helping out with local festivals. Having returned to the US, he now focuses on pursuing musical studies in both piano and voice. James is very excited and eager to make your visit to Boston as fun, educational, and memorable as possible.
